Whether our clients need a single classroom or complete school building, Speedspace’s modular classrooms provide a comfortable, functional and world-class solution for the necessary expansion of evolving educational infrastructure throughout Africa.
One such example of this involved the design, manufacture and installation of a School at Pholihali Dam Village in Lesotho. Our expertise in space management solutions was requested by the client, Polihali Village JV Construction (Pty) Ltd, a joint venture formed by WBHO South Africa and the Lesotho-based LSP Construction.
As one of the special requirements for this project, the school is being designed and constructed with a special panel that has a fire rating of 30 minutes and a R-Value of 2.12. That means that the building will have good fire-resistant properties and will be fairly well insulated to restrict heat flow, allowing the inside of the school classrooms and offices to be warm and comfortable for students and teachers.
The building itself will consist of the following rooms and structures, to ensure a comprehensive internal space for those learning, playing and working at the school.
• 6 x Classrooms of 49sqm each
• Staff Office – 64 sqm
• Staff Room – 82 sqm
• Indoor Sports Facility 800sqm
The planned contract period on site is expected to be four months, and we look forward to delivering the excellent outcomes that Speedspace has become known for.
