Soup kitchen project in Postmasburg

Our work to uplift and support the needs of people in the communities in which we operate aligns perfectly with the Christmas spirit of giving and caring.

With that in mind, our soup kitchen project in Postmasburg, Northern Cape, organised a “Christmas in October” event for the children in the community this week. Thanks to generous donations from our partners and the efforts and contributions of the Speedspace team, we managed to bless well over 650 children with gifts, blankets and a warm meal to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.

Since we started the project in May this year, we have managed to serve more than 13,000 meals to people in the community. We have been honoured and humbled to work with the local community and the AFM church in Tsantsebane.

The feeding scheme has been a great success and well-received by the community. Although our contract with the local mine will come to an end in November, Speedspace has made a commitment to continue with the soup kitchen and take hands with the local churches to address the needs in the area.

We look forward to continuing our support for the feeding scheme in partnership with people from the local community.
