Port Health Facility Prefabricated Modular Building

The Botswana government has relied on Speedspace to secure high-quality COVID-19 screening and isolation facilities at its border posts.

Speedspace Botswana was contracted by the Ministry of Health in Botswana to supply three Port Health Facility prefabricated modular buildings at various border posts so that those entering the country could be effectively screened for the virus and isolated if necessary.

The three modular parkhome buildings measuring 81sqm each consisted of offices, screening rooms, isolation rooms, a mini-laboratory, storeroom and clean and dirty rooms – including all of the medical amenities required for this important government effort.

The project was a turnkey solution which included civil works as well as external water and electrical reticulation.

With COVID-19 cases on the rise and borders needing to be tightly monitored, the urgency of this project was apparent.

Speedspace managed to complete the project from signing of the contract to handover of all three facilities, totalling 244sqm, within only 9 weeks – incredible efficiency for such a large and important project.
