South Africa’s COVID-19 vaccination rollout is well underway and Speedspace is contributing its expertise to constructing units used to administer vaccinations.
One such example of this is the Nelson Mandela University’s COVID Vaccination Station, where we used our parkhome units to construct a professional on-campus vaccination facility where staff and those in the community who register to have the vaccine are able to visit the site to have their vaccination.
The video below demonstrates how the vaccination process works at the university and showcases the comfortable, safe and versatile Speedspace units in action.
We supplied eight 12m x 3m four-room prefabricated modular buildings to the Nelson Mandela University at both their campuses in Port Elizabeth and George.
These were customised to suit their application and requirements with regards to their vaccination stations. For example, one of the rooms had roller-shutter doors installed to enable easy delivery of vaccine supplies and ramps are being installed to enable wheelchair access.
The units are being rented for a period of 12 months while the vaccination rollout continues.

This project once again illustrates the versatility and customisability of the Speedspace products and the fact that we can deliver the units and other products across the country with our trusted network of contractors and suppliers, as well as our inland and coastal offices which can service those areas as required on an ongoing basis.
