As we approach the end of 2022, we thought it was the right opportunity to look back at a few of the many projects we were involved in during the year.
Speedspace was trusted to deliver on projects throughout Africa, and here is a quick trip down memory lane over the past 12 months.
A long-term project that we were involved in throughout the year involved the expansion of the Kolomela Kapstevel South project in the Northern Cape. This project involved the delivery of 13 prefabricated buildings for use as offices, canteens and ablutions, complete with all the required fittings and fixtures for the client.
Another interesting project involved the conversion of two containers for a client who is in the process of establishing an off-the-grid accommodation in the Swartberg mountain range. Two 20′ marine containers were converted to accommodate two rooms, one with a kitchen and one with a bathroom, including the addition of fireplaces to each container, as well as gas geysers.
Earlier in the year, we designed and constructed these customized containers to securely store various heavy-duty sample stocks for the Anglo-Australian multinational mining firm, Rio Tinto. They were also designed to work as mobile storage units that can be deployed at their various active sites when necessary.
At the beginning of 2022, we were contacted by a company that needed to revert to an alternative office solution to avoid the extremely high lease costs of conventional office parks and retail spaces. We designed and constructed a modular office structure that took into consideration all of the client’s requirements, supplying a 60sqm modular office as per the medium-sized accounting firm’s requirements adjacent to an existing retail centre in the north of Johannesburg, proving that our modular solutions are even suited to high-end upmarket areas without detracting from their surroundings.
We are proud of all of these projects, and the many more that we completed over the last year.
