Speedspace recently completed and handed over one of the largest prefabricated modular double-storey buildings in Southern Africa, proving our ability to customise our space management solutions to cater to our clients’ exact requirements and expectations, regardless of the size or scope of a project.
We were contracted to design, supply and install a double-storey office block in Sasolburg to meet very specific design and quality requirements using the Ufudu Cabin range of products.
The client, NATREF, is South Africa’s only inland crude oil refinery. The medium-sized technologically advanced refinery, highly-efficient in refining heavy crude oil, is a joint venture between Sasol Oil and Total South Africa.
The internationally-recognised companies trusted Speedspace to deliver a large building comprised of 96 Ufudu Cabins. The double-storey structure has a footprint of 710 square metres with a total floor area of 1382 square metres, offering a comfortable, stylish and functional workplace for those in the new office.
Housed within one double-storey building due to the limited space available, the well-insulated and fully-functional building, complete with quality finishes, included meeting rooms, boardrooms, open plan as well as individual offices, male and female change rooms, a server room, store room, kitchen and dining area.
The client asked for the ceiling to be replaced with a suspended ceiling to allow for cables, racks and trays to be installed due to the size of the building. In addition, based on the client’s request, Speedspace installed a turnkey fire detection system including smoke detectors and a communication system, along with air conditioning to suit and match the existing buildings on site.
All of those specialised requirements were provided for and Speedspace was able to complete the entire building’s construction and have it signed off by the client within a four-month period, exceeding expectations and delivering a world-class space management solution timeously and efficiently.
