One such client which we are pleased to have assisted in the past and again more recently is leading mining company Rio Tinto. This Anglo-Australian multinational firm is the world’s second-largest metals and mining corporation, with operations in 35 countries including Zambia, where the diversified miner is active in the Zambian Copperbelt. This has allowed us, through our Zambian subsidiary Ufudu Zambia, to be involved in a number of projects for the global mining giant.
We first supplied Rio Tinto with a reefer container and an Ufudu Cabin kitchen unit, before later adding a set of customized 4 x 6m steel container converted storage units. A year later, the global mining firm engaged with us once again to fabricate the exact same layout, an endorsement of our world-class products and design capabilities.
These customized containers were carefully designed and fabricated to securely store various heavy-duty sample stocks. They were also designed to work as mobile storage units that can be deployed at their various active sites when necessary, providing the versatility and agility Rio Tinto needed in this particular space management application.
