As we move into 2021, we thought it was the right opportunity to look back at a few of the many projects we were involved in during 2020.
Speedspace was trusted to be involved in projects throughout Africa, and here is a quick trip down memory lane over the past 12 months.
At the start of the year, a private school based in Pretoria required a temporary solution for additional classrooms to accommodate extra learners. Speedspace provided the perfect solution for the school on a rental basis. Using our UfuduCabins product, we assisted the school with two 57sqm classrooms supplied delivered and assembled within 7 working days.
Our prefabricated units were also used to construct a church in Kanye, Botswana. Thanks to Speedspace’s ability to build high-quality structures that can be customised to suit the needs of clients, the church was created to give Christians in the area a spacious, warm and comfortable place dedicated to their worship.
When the pandemic hit, Speedspace played its part to contain the spread of the virus through our expertise in creating medical modular buildings. We built numerous prefabricated mobile parkhome isolation units and mobile clinics to assist in the fight against COVID-19.
Later in the year we were able to assist a gentleman who required a solution for rental offices on his coastal property. We joined five 14sqm cabins configured to his specific requirements to produce a stunning building that fit in perfectly with the exquisite natural surroundings.
At the end of June, we were involved in the construction of containerised conversion offices for the World Food Program (WFP) in Lusaka, Zambia. Our Zambian sister company, Ufudu Zambia, completed the 119sqm office block project from start to finish in less than a month.
More recently, Speedspace built and delivered a large remote accommodation solution in Mozambique for a large international client. The client required comfortable accommodation and living areas for 32 staff members. A total of 18 Cargo Steel marine containers were converted to the absolute satisfaction of the client.
We were also contracted to design, supply and install a double-storey office block in Sasolburg for NATREF, South Africa’s only inland crude oil refinery. Speedspace delivered a large building comprised of 96 Ufudu Cabins. The double-storey structure has a footprint of 710 square metres with a total floor area of 1382 square metres.
We are incredibly proud of all the projects we produced in 2020, and look forward to many more in 2021!
Happy New Year to you all!
